London's Best Bike Shop

Hand Building Frames and Custom Building Bikes

Cloud 9 Cycles was founded in 2009 with one simple aim:

To build top end bikes using the highest quality, best value and most attractive components available.

This is achieved by our years of experience and large range of frames, wheels and components we have in store.

Whether you are looking for a bespoke hand made frame or to build a bike from off the shelve components we can help.

From Summer 2014 Cloud 9 Cycles will be hand building frames “in house” so our customers can be measured and have their frame built right in front of them.

We have our own wheel builder and will happily advise on what wheels best match your requirements. We have a range of hubs (both road and track), rims and spokes and usually build a set of wheels in a day.

As well as our custom built bikes we have a selection of new stock bikes including Single Speeds, Road and Hybrids to suit all budgets.

Our mechanics are always happy to help and can service all types of bicycles.

Please check our servicing page for more information.

Cloud 9 Cycle's Street Racer

After riding in London for many years we hope that we have designed the ultimate bike.

Our Street Racer  has been hand built in London specifically for urban riding.

Reynolds 631 Steel tubing was chosen to give a compromise between comfort and durability. A tight rear triangle an extended top tube and short stem give a flawless mix of agility and stability necessary for navigating congested streets.

The Whisky carbon forks give a light front to the bike and mean you can pull your wheel up easily when needed to mount curbs.

With just a single chain ring up front and a 10 speed cassette you have a great selection of gears while keeping the weight and complications down.

Disc brakes allow for quick enhanced control when riding through the cityscape, including going down stairs and across parks.

The riser handlebars keep you upright and looking over the traffic. This position is perfect as unlike traditional drop bars you can see what is coming without straining your neck.

Large platform pedals give you great grip and allow you to push a lot of power through without having to wear clipless shoes.

Finally the Brooks Cambium saddle acts like a harness absorbing many of the potholed roads.

This bike can be purchased as either a Frameset only or as a whole bike with different build kit options.

Costs:

Frameset Only (inc Chris King Headset & Whisky forks) - £1,699

Whole Bike (various build options) - £2,499 - £5,999

Tech Spec:

Below is the technical specification for the bike pictured above and the full build with this spec is: £4,999
