Sturmey Archer is a name that dates back to 1902 and works as well today as it did then.
They were one of the first producers of hub gears and we regularly see ones as early as 1950 that are still being used today.
They have extended their range a bit and now do everything from fixed to 8 speed hubs and cranks to match.
Their value is unrivaled and a great track crank starts from £55.
They are not the lightest but are robust and will last many miles.
The hubs are hassle free and if you buy one with drum brakes then you will have a bike that requires minimal effort to keep going and will work in all weather conditions.
A legend in the bike game Sturmey has just celebrated it's 112th birthday and we are sure will be around for another century at least!
